The advanced elbow vein puncture training model is a simulation device often used in nursing and clinical skills teaching, which can truly reproduce the distribution of elbow veins and the puncture feel. When in use, the standardized procedures should be followed

First, prepare the items needed for the puncture, such as syringes, needles, tourniquets, alcohol cotton balls and gloves, and perform hand hygiene.

Secondly, place the model in an appropriate position to clearly expose the direction of the elbow vein.

Thirdly, trainees need to correctly select the puncture site, usually the vital vein or the head vein, and then apply a tourniquet to observe the fullness of the blood vessel.

Fourth, use alcohol cotton balls to disinfect in a circular motion from the puncture point outward to maintain aseptic operation.

Fifth, insert the needle into the model venous cavity at an appropriate Angle (about 15-30°) with the skin. The appearance of blood return indicates a successful puncture. Then, fix the needle and connect the infusion device.

Sixth, loosen the tourniquet, check for fluid flow, and then fix it properly. During the operation, it is required that the movements be gentle, steady and standardized to avoid repeated punctures that may cause damage to the model. Finally, organize the items and clean the model. Through training, trainees can master the steps and key points of venipuncture proficiently and improve their clinical skills.
